About me and my practice:
I offer confidential therapy to individual adults. I work with clients from many diverse walks of life, cultures, genders and sexual orientations from a sex-positive standpoint. I am committed to working in an inclusive way that both accounts for and values diversity.
Before training in counselling, I was a Lecturer in Music for many years (University of Edinburgh) and have found my experience in Music to have a great deal of relevance to counselling, as much of music making is about listening and about finding resonance with other people, becoming attuned to them.
In my approach to counselling, I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space in which we can work co-operatively to explore and create meaning together from the issues you bring to therapy. Through our dialogue and the co-creation of new, therapeutically potent narratives, we can begin to recognise new, emerging possibilities and the potential for genuine and sometimes profound change.
Therapy, for me, is something we do together in the present—a partnership—something for which we have a shared responsibility. Although therapy is not magic, in my experience it can often be deeply transformative.
I work relationally, with an emphasis on attunement, acceptance and empathy.

About me and my practice:
If you are thinking about therapy, you may have a sense that ‘something isn’t right’, or you may have a clear goal or issue in mind. Wherever you may place yourself on that scale, therapy offers a safe, containing, and resourcing space. One where you feel supported in working through an issue that you are experiencing.
I value the unique perspective, experience, and identity of each person I work with. I work inclusively, with a neurodiversity-affirming ethos. Valuing the needs, preferences, interests, communication styles of the people I work with.
I use a range of styles and approaches to find the way of working that feels right for each client. Working together to discover and make meaning of their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I am interested in finding what suits the needs and preferences of each client. Using a range of approaches, styles, and modalities in addition to my transactional analysis training, to move with the client throughout our work together in therapy.
We can explore what matters to you in an environment where it is safe, where you are welcome, and you feel supported. Where you can experience a healing relationship, and where parts of you feel free to emerge and grow, without stigma or shame.

About me and my practice:
About me - I have had an extensive training in Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology in Italy, my home country, where I got my highest qualifications and the license to practice as Psychologist in 1995. Since then, I've always worked in the mental health field, overseas. After spending years living in Canada and the U.S., my family and I moved to the UK, where I have chosen to focus on my private practice in Coventry and Warwickshire.
My practice - I offer Counselling, short and long-term Integrative Psychotherapy focused on Transactional Analysis (TA) which can be considered a bona fide and evidence-based treatment for a wide range of clients and psychological issues.
In particular, as a CTA (Certified Transactional Analyst), I help my clients in developing constructive ego states, improving self-efficacy, and social functioning, thanks to the therapeutic alliance and the mutual agreement to work together on tasks related to their well-being.
Having a deep interest in cross-cultural psychology, I do love working with multi-ethnic people. I use to work with individuals and couples of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, communities, and spiritual traditions.
I also offer Counselling and Psychotherapy services to Italian speaking Expats in Birmingham, Coventry, and surrounding areas.

Who I work with:
ADULTS
About me and my practice:
I have a warm and conversational approach. I offer a confidential, safe, and compassionate space to support you while we work together exploring and gaining insights into your thoughts, feelings, and behavioural patterns.
I believe talking therapy is a powerful tool that allows you to pause, to think, to feel and gain insight into the narrative you have written about who you are and who you are with others.
I use my own life experience to bring empathy and potency to my work and the therapeutic relationship.
I sit alongside you in the process and work at your pace. Each week sessions can be focussed on what you need support with or issue you wish to explore, we discuss what’s happening in the present and the past, or we can discuss something unexpected that has come up that week.
Mental health is no longer a societal taboo and now considered a priority in life. I have always had avid interest in how we have come to be the way we are.
I continue to learn and develop my theoretical and practical toolkit to be an effective and skilled Practitioner.

Who I work with:
Adults/Couples
About me and my practice:
Hello and welcome! My name is Ashley Jack, a dedicated and passionate Therapist specialising in Transactional Analysis, and a registered member of the BACP. I offer Individual and Couple's Counselling through my practice, Mia-Life.
At Mia-Life, I strive to create a safe and nurturing space where you can explore the challenges in your life. Whether you're dealing with childhood trauma, relationship breakdowns, stress, overwhelm, depression, or other forms of distress, I am here to help. I have a special interest in exploring the impact of our relationships on our sense of self and how these relationships shape our movement through the world.
My approach to therapy primarily involves the use of Transactional Analysis, combined with elements from various modalities where suitable. I believe in being curious about the discomforts of the present, understanding how past experiences have shaped our coping strategies, and working together to modernise these strategies to better suit your present circumstances and reduce feelings of anxiety.
As your therapist, I aim to strike a balance between being relational and directive, providing guidance when appropriate. My ultimate goal for our sessions is for you to improve your relationship with yourself, fostering a stronger sense of self-understanding and self-compassion.
In this increasingly digital world, I'm pleased to offer online counselling sessions, allowing you to engage in therapy in a way that's most comfortable and convenient for you. I also work with clients in person in the City of Dundee and soon to be Brechin.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.

Who I work with:
Adults
About me and my practice:
My origins are in London and the south coast of England but I moved progressively north basing myself in Perth, Scotland since 1997. After graduating I worked in IT before ill health forced a change in pace. I came to therapy through a desire to understand the struggles I have within myself and with others, and to make more sense of this fantastic world I live in.
As a therapist, my intention is to provide a safe and stretching space where we can explore your life, gain insight, develop coping strategies and support your personal development. This is enabled through a therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy and mutual respect. I work online and in-person.
