Who I work with:

Hello I’m Mary, a qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and outdoor therapist working in Lewes, Brighton and around East Sussex. I also work online.
I help people reconnect with their sense of aliveness using a combination of talking therapy, somatic, body orientated practices, mindfulness and movement.
Talking to someone outside of your day to day existence can help you understand more clearly how you relate to yourself, others and the world around you. Compassionate, non judgemental listening will give you the space to explore what it’s like to be truly seen and heard for who you really are. All too often how you see yourself now is based on what happened to you in the past. Together we can shine a light on the patterns behind what's troubling you. As your awareness grows we can begin to challenge your familiar frame of reference and explore new possibilities and different ways of relating.
I believe talking therapy helps put meaning to our experience, but often our bodies hold memories and emotions that we struggle to find words for. Body orientated therapy offers a creative way to access and release this. How do we know we are happy, angry, anxious…? We might experience a warm feeling in the heart, a knot in the stomach, hunched shoulders. Exploring physical sensations and movements can help us fully experience our emotions. We can learn to move in and out of difficult sensations and emotions so that they become less overwhelming. Emotions are part of our visceral experience of being alive and yet often we learn to suppress them. Feeling and expressing emotions helps cultivate a resilient nervous system that will support you through the inevitable ups and downs of life. It’s about learning to surf the waves instead of feeling that you're being pulled under.

About me: UKCP Accredited Certified Transactional Analyst (P).
What’s my motivation?
I’m originally from Cork in Ireland and have worked as a therapist for the last 10 years. In my practice, I offer you a space where you can explore and discover your identity and regain a sense of autonomy and connectedness. I seek to support you to move from a place of feeling perhaps “stuck” and “lost” to a position where they feel more connected to themselves and others. This can assist you to moving towards living a more authentic and fulfilled life.
My journey to becoming a psychotherapist began as a direct result of experiencing a challenging time in my early 20s and seeking therapy. My experience of psychotherapy at the time was life changing.
My values
I am enthusiastic about working collaboratively alongside my clients where they can be their “best selves”.
I am a firm believer in treating everyone with the dignity and respect which they deserve irrespective of their identity, background, culture, sexuality, disability, life experiences, religious affiliations. Inclusivity is a significant personal value of mine (see below). Justice and fairness are of paramount importance, and I have worked with clients who have experienced forms of injustice and unfairness in society, the workplace, and relationships over the years. My own philosophy as a therapist includes respecting and understanding each client’s perspective and treating them with the utmost dignity and compassion. I strive to support, be understanding and be non judgemental.
Client Choice and Autonomy
It is important for you to feel comfortable in deciding which counsellor or psychotherapist you want to work with. I ensure that all prospective clients can have a free 20 min chat either on phone or online to get a sense on if I am the right "fit" for you. During this chat you can give me a sense of what it is causing you distress/ discomfort at this time. I will answer any questions you may have about individual or couples counselling and what it entails.
Couples/ Relationship Counselling
I’m an Imago Relationship Therapist which is a specialist and highly effective form of couples counselling. Imago relationship therapy is a wonderful way to get to know your partner better and feel more loved and deeply connected. It is also about experiencing the joy of being in relationship and how it is important for us to show appreciations to our partner.
My practice is based in Manchester City Centre on Mondays and on Tuesdays I work in Sale where face to face and online appointments can take place from both locations. Online appointments can also be facilitated on Wednesdays. I work with individuals and also with couples. I use Imago Relationship Therapy in my work with Couples and charge £60 for individual therapy (50 mins) and £85 per hour of couples therapy.

Hello, my name is Susie (she/her) and I am a qualified talking therapy Integrative Counsellor and level 7 trainee psychotherapist.
My passion is to facilitate a safe and confidential space where individuals can explore issues they may be struggling with, to work towards gaining insight, awareness and sometimes resolution. Together we navigate what is quite often uncomfortable and distressing thoughts, feelings and behaviour to find a better path to improve mental health and wellbeing.
I see both my professional and personal life experiences as a positive resource to call upon, which I hope means I can accompany people with all sorts of challenges in a kind, empathic, authentic and compassionate manner.
Over the years I have studied Psychology, Transactional Analysis (a theory of personality and communication), Neuro-linguistic Programming (the study of how our beliefs impact our thoughts, feelings, and behaviour), Timeline & Hypno-therapy amongst other interventions. Most recently I’ve completed an advanced training in email counselling, which is becoming more popular, especially for people who work irregular hours, or for various reasons find they are unable to commit to a rigid day/time or feel awkward being seen or heard.
I’ve been in clinical practice for several years now, working with a range of issues and presentations. At the moment, I offer short and long-term contracts with people face-to-face (F2F) for Kent Association for the Blind, and privately on-line over zoom, or by phone. Since recently finishing my advanced training in email counselling I’m happy to offer this too. There are times when clients have found it helpful to switch between modalities i.e. going from F2F to zoom.

Who I work with:
Adults/Couples
I am a warm, thoughtful, sensitive, and empathic therapist. I bring compassion, intuition, creativity, humour, and an eye for life’s details into my practice. Alongside my formal training I draw from a broad life experience including motherhood, travel, a career in cake design, and my own therapeutic journey. I was brought up in Cumbria, and returned 20 years ago. I now live in Kendal with my two children, and am truly grateful to be able to feed our souls with the people and nature that surround us in the South Lakes.
I work in person at the Porchlight Practice, online using zoom, and I also offer therapy in the outdoors. Alongside my private practice, I was one of the volunteer counselling team at Carer Support South Lakes. I work with couples and individuals.
Whether you’re seeking therapy to live a more fulfilling life; to deal with stress, depression, or anxiety; improve relationships, or to explore experiences from your past then I can help. I offer you a safe, confidential space to be you. Here we can explore what is troubling you, what’s working for you and what isn’t; who you are, and what you want out of life. Give yourself the time to simply sit down, breathe and talk freely.
I work with individuals and couples: online, face-to-face, and outdoors.
My working hours are:
Monday 9.00am – 4.30pm
Tuesday 8.45am – 4.30pm
Wednesday 8.45am – 4.30pm
Thursday 9.00am – 8.30pm Friday 8.45am – 1.00pm
The quality of the relationship between therapist and client is an important factor in determining the quality of therapeutic outcomes. With this in mind, I offer a reduced fee initial appointment (£30 for 60 minutes), so that you get a sense of what it’s like to work with me, before deciding on further sessions.
I suggest committing to an initial block of six sessions which will be weekly, and then we will review your progress together. You may find that these sessions are enough to address your concerns, or you may decide that longer term work would benefit you. If you’d like to know more or book an appointment then please get in touch.
I endeavor to make my practice LGBTQ+ friendly, and an open and welcoming space for people from all cultures and backgrounds.

Hello, I’m Hasan, a Transactional Analysis (TA) therapist and a registered NCPS counsellor.
I offer online therapy across the UK, and in-person sessions in the Bexleyheath area. One of my specialties is supporting the Deaf community and individuals with hearing loss, ensuring they have a space where they can feel fully understood and supported.
I work with clients facing stress, anxiety, and depression. I’m also deeply passionate about exploring issues around identity, including the intersections of culture, race, and sexuality.
TA is a powerful tool for personal growth, designed to help you unlock your full potential and improve your overall well-being. While rooted in a Humanistic approach, TA goes beyond traditional therapy, offering a comprehensive framework for positive change in your life.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 11 years as a sign language interpreter. This background allows me to offer a unique therapeutic experience for both Deaf and hearing individuals.
When you reach out, we can set up a free 15-minute screening to explore what brings you to therapy. If we both feel that we’re a good fit, we’ll arrange a convenient time for ongoing sessions.
Typically, sessions last 50 minutes once a week, though I’m happy to adapt the frequency based on your needs.
I look forward to supporting you on your journey to well-being.
