I’m JJ – a psychotherapeutic counsellor trained in Transactional Analysis, and I work online with people who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready to understand themselves better. My approach is warm and collaborative, but also grounded and thoughtful. I’m here to listen, to ask the questions that matter, and to help you make sense of what’s beneath the surface.

Before becoming a counsellor I spent years working in theatre – directing productions and running venues. I’ve led teams, worked with people at every level, and navigated the space where creativity meets real-world complexity. That experience taught me something fundamental: whether it’s on stage or in a therapy room, everything comes back to relationships and how we show up in them.

My counselling room is open to everyone. My own journey as a gay, HIV+ man has taught me the value of finding someone who truly gets it. While I have particular experience with LGBTQIA+ individuals, people affected by HIV, and those in creative fields, what matters most is that you feel heard, safe, and understood.

I bring sensitivity, lived experience, and warmth - peppered with a healthy dose of challenge. I continue my professional development as an Advanced Trainee in Psychotherapy, at The Berne Institute, continuing to deepen my practice every day.
