My name is Kate Hardy, pronouns she/her, and I am a qualified, UK Registered Psychotherapist and CTA working online and also face to face in a beautiful, peaceful setting in west Wales 30 minutes by car from Aberystwyth or Lampeter. I have 20 years clinical experience. I have ten years' experience as a supervisor and from next year I hope to qualify to provide supervision which counts towards the CTA. I specialise in relationships and in times of transition and personal change. I also run online and face to face personal development groups, which can be an affordable alternative to one to one therapy. My personal practice as a psychotherapist is all about you and what you need from your therapy. You might be embarking on a journey of personal development as a student. You might be looking for positive changes in health, caring, identity, work, bereavement, family problems or relationships. You might have gone through changes you did not want or ask for. You might be experiencing a lot of anxiety, or feeling sadness or low mood right now. Using TA, we will start with some simple strategies to bring things back to a place where they feel more manageable. From there, if you want to, we can look more deeply at what has led you to this point in your life, and also the places where you perhaps would like to go next on your journey.

I provide a confidential and safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings so we can understand your frame of reference and focus on what feels important to you. Being listened to by someone empathic and in a place free of judgement is a powerful way for you to make sense of what is going on for you. Together we can build on your inner resources and resilience helping you to experience a more fulfilling life. My approach is 'relational' whereby our relationship is an integral part of the work we do together. It is through the here-and-now of our relationship that we can uncover historical patterns of thinking, feeling, behaving, creating awareness of how these patterns may impact you and the way you relate in the present. We will focus on your wants and needs and together we will explore what you hope to achieve in our time together and what it is you would like to change.

Counselling is really normal, and completely transformational all at the same time. I offer you a safe, confidential space to be you. Here we can explore what is troubling you, what's working for you and what isn't; who you are, and what you want out of life. Give yourself the time to simply sit down, breathe and talk freely. I am a warm, thoughtful, sensitive, and empathic therapist, and I bring compassion, intuition, creativity, humour, and an eye for life’s details into my practice. Alongside my formal training I draw from a broad life experience including motherhood, travel, a career in cake design, and my own therapeutic journey. My core training is in Transactional Analysis (TA), and I use an integrative therapeutic approach based upon what will best work for you. TA is a humanistic and compassionate theory that supports individuals to improve their relationships, communication, work life, personal anxieties, and account for the past. I work collaboratively, meaning that you and I are actively engaged in the therapeutic process. I provide support and challenge to help you grow, and make changes in your life. Research shows that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in determining therapeutic outcomes. With this in mind, I offer a half price initial session, so that we can get to know each other, discuss what you'd like help with, and decide whether to work together.

Who I work with:

Adults and young people

We all experience times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed, distressed, sad, anxious, depressed or notice that we are not experiencing our “hoped for” relationships with ourselves or others. Having a safe space and someone to talk to can really make a difference. I believe that time spent focusing on our relationship with ourselves and others, can offer us the chance to see and understand our experiences differently; creating space for new and healthier outcomes. As a counsellor and CT Psychotherapist, I use TA framework as the basis for my practice. Calm, methodical and compassionate, I work within in a humanistic and Integrative framework, influenced by body Psychotherapy and Neurobiology. As such, I believe that relationship with my client is key and work with the need of individual based on what is relevant for them. Honesty, integrity and empathy lie at the heart of my work along with providing and holding safe boundaries in which people can explore and make meaning from their experience. I have many years experience working with both adults and children across the public and private sectors, supporting them through challenging times. I have experience working with children and young people, adult bereavement, and drug and alcohol addiction, domestic abuse and domestic violence, dis-regulated eating, anxiety and trauma. A UKATA and EATA endorsed member, I adhere to the UKATA code of Ethics and Professional Practice. I work with the support and guidance of a TA Specialist Supervisor for ongoing best practice and professional development.

I believe that everybody has the right to be happy and to reach their potential, and I also recognise that life enhancing changes may be necessary for people to achieve this. My name is Jules Marshall, I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Mindfulness teacher based in Carmarthenshire. I offer Counselling, Psychotherapy, Supervision and Mindfulness courses to individuals, couples and groups. My Therapy room is easily accessible in Llandeilo where there is parking close by and I also offer online session via Zoom. Individual Therapy Individual therapy is an opportunity to look at yourself and how you are with the world in a safe, confidential environment. As a therapist I am there to facilitate awareness of your options and possible choices in a supportive way. The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and to make a decision about whether we wish to work together. The sessions will take place in Llandeilo or on- line and will last for 50 minutes. Sessions usually take place on a weekly basis, the total number of which will depend on your individual requirements. I also offer telephone counselling if appropriate Couples Therapy Relationships with others, particularly within marriages and partnerships, is something we all have problems with at some point in our lives. There may come a time when the issues appear to be so overwhelming that a solution seems to be impossible. The ability to relate effectively is of vital importance to all of us. Couples therapy is an opportunity to discuss issues such as conflict, family stress, unmet personal and relationship needs in a 'neutral territory' with an unbiased observer who can provide feedback and information coupled with confidential and non-judgemental support. Sessions usually last 60 or 90 minutes and can take place on a weekly basis, the total number of which will depend on your individual requirements. Group Therapy What is Group Therapy? A group of people that come together with a Group leader who acts as the facilitator and provides an environment that is both supportive and challenging. Transactional analysis was originally practised as a group therapy as its emphasis has always been on understanding interactions. What are some of the advantages of Group Therapy? Groups generate a social environment in which clients can benefit from each other’s work, which may then enable them to gain insight or may trigger other issues for them. MIndfulness Courses Finding a way to relax and escape the stress and anxieties of life is difficult to do. If your curious about meditation, how to start, how it can help you to help yourself, if you like the idea of spending more time in the present moment. Mindfulness meditation whether its the 8 week MBSR course or individual sessions combined with Psychotherapy contact me.

Thank-you for taking time to read about what I have to offer you. I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working in my private practice since 2012. I offer an initial telephone consultation to give you an opportunity to talk with me, to tell me a little about yourself and answer your questions, this is an important step for you and I to see if we are a good fit to work together. This time also gives us an opportunity to see if I am the right professional for your needs. I work with people, over 18, who are experiencing mental health issues ( as outlined in the "What I can help with" section). I use weekly outcome measures which are questionnaires to monitor your health and well being as well as how you are responding to therapy which helps to tailor the therapy to your needs and years of research support this way of working and improve the outcomes of therapy. My background is in the NHS as a senior nurse and advanced nurse practitioner for almost 30 years, on retirement I retrained as a psychotherapist. I am currently doing an advanced research degree looking at how therapists use outcome measures in their decision making. Please get in touch if you would like to know more. Carol

Working together we can increase the capacity for personal change and to feel more in control of your life. I also have over 7 years experience as a clinical supervisor and have worked with trainees, newly qualified counsellors through to very experienced practitioners.
