Thank you for clicking on my profile. I am a CTA Psychotherapist registered with UKATA and UKCP. I was a senior nurse in the NHS for almost 30 years, training as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care.
I gained 8 years experience as a counsellor working with survivors of gender-based violence during my clinical placement, 2 years as a volunteer at Stratheden Mental Hospital and a year at the University of St Andrews as a student support counsellor.
Since qualifying as a CTA(P) I worked with Physis in Edinburgh as their Academic Support Advisor with trainees.
I am currently in my 3rd year of a part time PhD researching the use of outcome measures by psychotherapists.
I specialise in the promotion and recovery of good mental health in particular I am skilled at working with PTSD survivors and people with anxiety and depression.
I would say I like to work at a relational depth with people and value the principles and philosophy of Transactional Analysis.
