My practice is underpinned by Transactional Analysis theory which I integrate with other approaches, creative techniques (e.g. sand tray) and body work.
I offer:
- exploration (e.g. I want to explore how an event affected my life)
- dealing with a specific issue (e.g. I want to worry less)
- clarification (e.g. I want to understand my relationships better)
- development (e.g. I want to lead a more meaningful life)
I’m an involved practitioner and stand for client's empowerment. That means I focus on creating a safe and containing environment where you can be yourself, explore, change or have a go at relating in a different way.
I have been passionately working in a voluntary and arts sector for over 20 years in various roles, the core themes have been about voice, empowerment, skills and creating a place of healing. I draw the use of creative methods and body awareness from my experience in theatre and contemporary dance.

Who I work with:

I am a qualified Psychologist and a UKATA registered Counsellor. I had my advanced clinical training in TA Psychotherapy practice. Before I trained to work as a counsellor, I worked as a psychologist in academia and have been working as a social researcher for the last twenty years in different organisations. I have substantial amount of expertise both in working with people from different backgrounds and in researching on a wide range of topics all very relevant to my client work.
I am trained in Transactional Analysis (TA) which is a form of modern psychology that aims to promote personal change and growth using a set of tools. The application of TA tools can be a very effective way of thinking about the unconscious processes that drive our thoughts, feelings and behaviours within any given situation and in all relationships.
If you are experiencing Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), depression, grief/loss, social anxiety and trauma, our mutually agreed treatment plan for your needs can help you gain your sense of self again so that you can start enjoying your life. Life is full of challenges and different phases of our lives bring their own issues with them. Working on our part when dealing with these difficulties will bring about significant changes to the way we relate to significant others in our lives. I can help you identify what is getting in the way so that you can work on eliminating them to have a more fulfilled life.
Building on our emotional literacy is a game changer. When we're able to tune into our own emotions and develop awareness of our 'emotional reference', we will become more aware of recognising it in others. This has a significant positive impact on improving our relationship with ourselves and with others, leading us having a more joyful and enjoyable life.
