I have been working as a therapist since the 1990s and using my broad range of experience, can offer people the skill and compassion needed to help them make changes in their lives.​ I believe that therapy isn’t about becoming someone else, it’s about becoming the person you would have been if you hadn’t experienced difficulties along the way. Having spent nearly 30 years in the TA arena I have gained a depth and breadth of experience, which includes working for 3 years in the TA cathexis community. I am a BPD (Borderline personality disorder) specialist and have spent 4 years running 2 groups a week for women who meet the criteria. I currently work in private practice offering 1:1 and group work. I enjoy supervision as it gives me an opportunity to share my wealth of knowledge and experience to support people to develop their practice. In addition to being a PTSTA I have a Diploma in Integrative supervision. I am also qualified as a professional coach & mentor and have worked in organisations as a coach, trainer and delivering 360 appraisal feedback.

I offer supervision to qualified TA practitioners only (not trainees) I have particular interest/experience in:- Psychosexual issues Bereavement & loss Terminal illness and end-of-life work I'm also an experienced trainer, having worked for nearly 5 years with an integrative psychotherapy training institute.

I offer counselling and TA Psychotherapy. My primary approach is Transactional Analysis and my foundations are based on the TA values of everyone is ok, everyone is capable of making decisions and change is possible. I have worked with a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, worry, relationship issues, addiction, abuse, trauma. I work with adults of all ages and from all cultures and backgrounds. I aim to provide a safe and confidential space to develop the therapeutic relationship. We will work together to look at behaviour, thoughts and feelings that are current and/or affected by the past. I work with my client to investigate where change is wanted and how to implement that with their own resources and resilience.

I began working therapeutically using Hypnotherapy in 2003 and now integrate TA and other modalities into my work. When working with couples I use Imago Relationship Therapy, a powerful and effective way of moving couples out of the power struggle and into close connection. My approach is relational, which means that what emerges in the relationship between client and therapist is important to the therapeutic journey and outcome. I have specialised as a psychotherapist in Transactional Analysis which informs how I work and think. However, I use other techniques such as dream analysis and theories from other modalities in therapy to help clients understand themselves, their internal and external worlds, including relationships, better. I am warm, empathic, approachable and non-judgemental. I work with each client as an individual and seek to understand each person as such and draw on my training, as well as my life experiences to support this. I will challenge where appropriate and believe in clients' capacity to change, grow and actualise their potential. At times this might feel uncomfortable / frustrating / worrying as clients begin to question their frame of reference or the way they live their lives and start to make changes. ​I listen to each individual regarding the pace of the work and am responsive in my approach to support individual growth and understanding of self.

I'm a qualified and experienced practitioner and hold the UKATA Diploma in Transactional Analysis Practice. I offer both counselling and psychotherapy from my quiet and comfortable therapy space in Oulton, Leeds, working with clients from 18 years upwards. I can support you with a wide range of challenges, including; trauma, abuse, relationship difficulties, identity issues, depression and anxiety. Working as an integrative therapist from a relational perspective, I can support you to find a better understanding of yourself and your relationships. We all have a story to tell and I'm interested to hear yours and how it might be impacting you today. You will have a space to talk, reflect, understand your thoughts and feelings, increasing your awareness and exploring your options. I hold an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and have extensive experience in both the private and public sector, working with individuals, couples and groups. I work with a wide range of clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. They may be struggling with relationships, bereavement, depression, anxiety including obsessive-compulsive disorder, stress, or be adult survivors of childhood abuse. I also have specialist training in working with eating disorders, particularly overeating and binge eating, and I am keenly interested in new research looking at the role of nutrition in psychological disorders. My aim is to help my clients create real change in their lives, whether that is about addressing what is going on inside themselves or in their relations with other people, or both. I use the widely accessible theories of Transactional Analysis, such as ego states, psychological games, life scripts and emotional hungers to help my clients better understand themselves and other people. I also use principles from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and Mindfulness so that I can adapt my approach to the individual needs of my clients.

I am a creative individual who enjoys working with people in ways that suit their needs, often utilising visual and sensory resources. It is a priority for me to account for the difference and diversity each person brings. I chose the name of my practice, Connection Point as it reflects what I feel therapy is about; finding the points of connection and meeting there. When I work with people who may struggle with communication and connection, finding this meeting place feels especially important. I work individually with adults and young people age 16+.
