As a person-centred therapist I don’t see clients as a collection of symptoms, traumas and anxieties, nor do I see myself as having ‘all the answers’. Instead I believe my clients already hold these keys, but they can be lost, confused or alone. It is my job to work alongside them as another human being who deeply listens and cares.
I came to counselling through my own struggles in life and I know how important it is to really connect with the person you’re sharing your journey with. My work with clients avoids judgment and shame; instead I seek to provide a warm and supportive space for us to sit alongside each other and explore the issues you bring. My focus is to hear you, to see you and to recognise the need you have, whilst working with you as the expert in your own world.
I appreciate how difficult it can be to take that first step, or the returning one, to counselling. I am passionate about how counselling can enrich and change lives.
I worked in academia for nearly 25 years before qualifying as a therapist, and deeply understand the stress and anxiety that goes with working as part of a large institution or organisation. I also have experience working with young people aged 16 and over.
Since 2019 I have spent a great deal of time working with terminally ill clients, those with cancer at varying stages, and their carers. Such experiences throw our entire world into relief. Fear of the future; fear of who I will become and grief counselling have become central to my work.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and a member of UKATA (United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis), holding a diploma in counselling with a specialism in Transactional Analysis or TA.
Transactional Analysts view many of our everyday issues as having origins in our early lives. The patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving set in early life often play out again and again, limiting our ability to be in the here and now. TA gives me access to an array of techniques and models to support you, while adapting my approach to suit your individual needs.
The foundation ethos of TA is rooted in equality and accessibility: it advocates that all people have the right and capacity to change.

In my experience the reasons for seeking counselling are as individual as the people who contact me. Perhaps a life event such a bereavement or relationship breakdown has left you feeling unable to see a way forward, or you feel stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling or behaviour. Whatever your reasons, I aim to provide a warm and empathic relationship from which we can explore your therapy goals.
Having worked in a caring profession for many years as a Registered Dental Nurse prior to becoming a qualified counsellor, I am experienced in empathically responding to people’s pain and discomfort. My extensive counselling and psychotherapy training has now enabled me to offer support for emotional and psychological distress. I started my journey to become a counsellor initially with a view to help dental phobic patients but soon realised during the training that I enjoyed working in other areas also.
I now run a private practice seeing adults in the Crawley and Horsham area alongside my work for a Sussex based charity providing counselling to young people with mental health issues, as well as their families. In addition to these roles, I have been lucky enough to have worked at a leading London hospice providing counselling support and an online low-cost counselling service. As a result of these posts, I have gained experience in a diverse range of presenting issues and have included some of my areas of expertise for your information.

I believe that everybody has the right to be happy and to reach their potential, and I also recognise that life enhancing changes may be necessary for people to achieve this.
My name is Jules Marshall, I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Mindfulness teacher based in Carmarthenshire. I offer Counselling, Psychotherapy, Supervision and Mindfulness courses to individuals, couples and groups.
My Therapy room is easily accessible in Llandeilo where there is parking close by and I also offer online session via Zoom.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is an opportunity to look at yourself and how you are with the world in a safe, confidential environment. As a therapist I am there to facilitate awareness of your options and possible choices in a supportive way.
The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and to make a decision about whether we wish to work together.
The sessions will take place in Llandeilo or on- line and will last for 50 minutes. Sessions usually take place on a weekly basis, the total number of which will depend on your individual requirements.
I also offer telephone counselling if appropriate
Couples Therapy
Relationships with others, particularly within marriages and partnerships, is something we all have problems with at some point in our lives. There may come a time when the issues appear to be so overwhelming that a solution seems to be impossible. The ability to relate effectively is of vital importance to all of us. Couples therapy is an opportunity to discuss issues such as conflict, family stress, unmet personal and relationship needs in a 'neutral territory' with an unbiased observer who can provide feedback and information coupled with confidential and non-judgemental support.
Sessions usually last 60 or 90 minutes and can take place on a weekly basis, the total number of which will depend on your individual requirements.
Group Therapy
What is Group Therapy?
A group of people that come together with a Group leader who acts as the facilitator and provides an environment that is both supportive and challenging. Transactional analysis was originally practised as a group therapy as its emphasis has always been on understanding interactions.
What are some of the advantages of Group Therapy?
Groups generate a social environment in which clients can benefit from each other’s work, which may then enable them to gain insight or may trigger other issues for them.
MIndfulness Courses
Finding a way to relax and escape the stress and anxieties of life is difficult to do. If your curious about meditation, how to start, how it can help you to help yourself, if you like the idea of spending more time in the present moment. Mindfulness meditation whether its the 8 week MBSR course or individual sessions combined with Psychotherapy contact me.

I have experience working with adults and adolescent's for a range of mental health issues. I offer Psychotherapeutic Counselling using a relational approach. Who I work with:
Adults 16+ / Couples
We can all experience times in our lives when we feel that the demands of life are too much for us to cope with. This can result in us feeling depressed, anxious or overwhelmed. These challenges often bring up feelings from our past which impact our relationships. Therapy allows you the space and time to explore and bring awareness to your patterns of behaving and relating to yourself and others. The supportive, trusting relationship between us is an important part of our work together as we reflect on thoughts, feelings and behaviours and seek awareness, relief and the opportunity to live a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
I provide a warm, safe and compassionate space where you can talk freely and confidentially about the difficulties you are experiencing and the issues you would like to work through with the aim of working towards resolution, healing and growth.
My core training is in Transactional Analysis and I work integratively with a relational approach.
