The Iron Mill TA psychotherapy programme is based in the centre of Exeter, close to transport links, accommodation and shopping areas.

The overall integrating principle for the course is the use of Transactional Analysis as a relational psychotherapy. The team of tutors are all experienced UKCP-Registered psychotherapists, and TA Trainers and Supervisors, with special interests and expertise.

We aim to create a flexible and lively training within a robust structure. This is based on principles of Radical Education: education as a dialogue, based in the lived experience of the participants, and with shared responsibility for the learning.

We offer the TA 101, a 2-day introduction to the key concepts for anyone interested in this theory and practice, a Psychotherapy Foundation course in TA, and a 3-year Advanced TA psychotherapy course.

Students may complete the Foundation in TA as a standalone course. The 4 -year psychotherapy programme, (the 1-year Foundation course and 3-year Advanced TA psychotherapy course), provides a complete training leading to qualification in TA psychotherapy , and meets the curriculum requirements for UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registration, on completion of the CTA.
