TASC Update October 2024
Further Information
23/10/24, 11:00
With apologies, some information for UKCP registrants was missed off last week’s communication. See bold text below for clarification. Thanks to Susie Hewitt and Martin Weaver for picking this up.
Information for UKCP registrants
TASC want to remind current and future UKCP registrants via UKATA, that UKCP registration initially requires membership of two bodies; UKCP and the member organisation of UKCP which placed them on the UKCP register, such as UKATA. We are finding a number of people are choosing not to renew their membership of UKATA once they become UKCP registrants – and this then, unfortunately, invalidates their UKCP registration.
Once registered, if a UKATA member no longer wished to hold UKATA membership, but remain a UKCP registrant, they can chose to become what’s known as a Direct Member of UKCP – whereby membership of only UKCP is required.
This is a change that needs to be requested by contacting membership at UKCP (membership@ukcp.org.uk) and asking to be registered as a Direct Member. UKCP would then make the necessary arrangements for re-accreditation via the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College so that at the next yearly membership renewal the registrant would become a Direct Member.
As always, if you have any questions concerning this update please be in touch with us: tasc-enquiries@uka4ta.co.uk. We are always glad to speak to you.
Best wishes,
UKATA Training Accreditation and Standards Committee.
