This course is designed for professionals ready to advance to supervisory roles, including counsellors, psychotherapists, teachers, mental health workers, medical staff, social workers, consultants, and others in helping professions. It aligns with BACP and UKCP standards, preparing participants for accredited status and post-qualification roles like PTSTA for Certified Transactional Analysts.
Structured over six weekends, the course employs a blended learning approach with face-to-face sessions and pre-session tasks. It includes group discussions, small group exercises, and 'live' supervision practice with feedback. To integrate theory into practice, participants must complete 40 hours of supervision under a consultative supervisor.
The course covers various theoretical models, supervisory tasks, ethics, legal issues, diversity, and safety. It addresses effective supervision, developing working alliances, managing contracts, different supervision styles, handling fitness-to-practice issues, and working with unconscious processes. Participants will also learn about creative supervision and supporting supervisees through accreditation.
Assessments include attendance on all training days, a micro-teach session, a group assessment of a live recording, a 3000-word case study, and additional reading. Upon completion, participants can practice as supervisors and receive a Connexus Institute Diploma in Supervision with 120 CPD hours. Payment plans are available.
