We are all born into a group and groups influence us throughout our lives. Siblings, Families, Cultural Units, Societies, Religions, Races are all examples of groupings that can constantly overlap, all influencing the individual identity in a constant feedback loop.  Therapy groups can provide fundamental experience of belonging and relating, offering unique ways to express, observe, rework the personal Script. Groupwork requires an ability to switch between frameworks: from the individual Self to the Group Self.  

As a counsellor or therapist this work can be powerful, stimulating and incredibly useful for our clients. When we observe and work with our clients in a group we can gain a greater understanding of their interpersonal as well as their intrapsychic worlds
