Rebecca Davies – Chair of Exam Committee

Rebecca Davies is a PTSTA(P) and CTA(P). Rebecca holds post graduate certificates in Body Psychotherapy, Trauma, Clinical supervision, as well as being an accredited Dance of Awareness therapist. She holds an BA in Philosophy and Cognitive Science. She is the UKATA CTA written exam coordinator and chair of UKATA’s Exam Committee. She is a core tutor at a UKCP registered training institute and also runs the exam prep group for the college.

She privately runs certificates in Interpersonal Neurobiology and Embodied TA and has a special interest in the physiology of trauma, Polyvagal Theory, and the neurology of relationships.

Rebecca feels passionately about the exam process and creating an inclusive system for all.

Rebecca Elston – Exam Committee

Rebecca Elston (she/her) is a PTSTA (P) and CTA (P) and is acting Written Exam Coordinator for UKATA, covering Rebecca Davies’ leave. She has a private practice in Nottinghamshire where she incorporates ecological and intersectional systemic perspectives to her therapeutic work and also has a small supervision practice.

She works at The Berne Institute as EDI Lead and Shadow Tutor for the Foundation Year in Transactional Analysis.

Jo Moores – Exam Committee

Jo Moores is a PTSTA based in Manchester in the north of England. She works as a therapist, supervisor and trainer and has a strong interest in trauma, neurodiversity, bodywork and transgenerational family systems.

She is passionate about the intersection of therapy, politics and culture and is interested in working cross culturally and intersectionally exploring how the dynamics of power, privilege and oppression show up in our clients lives, in our therapy spaces and within organisations and systems.

She is looking forward to being part of the exam committee and is particularly interested in aspects of access and inclusivity within our exam processes.

Elizabeth Jeffries – Exam Committee

I am Liz Jeffries, a CTA-qualified psychotherapist based in South Manchester. I have a small private psychotherapy practice, and a particular interest in working with the psychological aspects of chronic pain, later life transitions and identities, and personal development work with trainees at all stages of training and preparing for their qualification exams.

I have a passion for lifelong learning. This is an active process which currently involves being on the peer review panel for the TAJ. evaluating CTA exams, studying for an MSc in Psychology and   preparing for my PTSTA endorsement through the Training Endorsement Workshop (TEW).

My personal experience of the CTA exam was life changing in a positive way, and yet I recognise this is not the case for everyone. So, in joining the exams committee I hope that ways can be found to increase the support available, to make it more accessible for those who may find transactional analysis exams overwhelming, and yet at the same time ensure that the academic rigour in the exam process is maintained.

Naomi Frith - Exam Committee

Naomi Frith has a small private practice, working with adults in the south coast. She completed her UKATA Diploma in TA Practice in 2018. She has a strong interest in working with sexual trauma and religious abuse.

The rest of the week Naomi works in the NHS as a mental health service manager of various CAMHS teams. Naomi has project managed and implemented system change within her NHS work. Now embarking on the CTA journey herself she hopes to use her fledgling experience of the exam experience to identify areas where the CTA exam process can be improved.

Naomi’s favourite things include walking her dog, bouldering and making/creating things.

Joanna Groves - Exam Committee

Joanna Groves is a psychotherapist, supervisor, and trainer Certified in both TA (psychotherapy) and Imago Relationship Therapy. She co-runs The Affinity Centre near Manchester, which offers clinical training and supervision in Imago (IRT) for those developing a practice in relationship therapy. Joanna is AuDHD, dyslexic, and dyscalculic. She is focussed on the continual development of neuro-affirming and inclusive practice and learning experiences.  Her (current) enthusiasms are community grief tending, creative supervision practices, and conscious relationships.
