'Masking' is an adapted set of intrapsychic, socio-behavioral and relational patterns that hide or minimize ADHD in order to adjust to neurotypical standards or familial/societal norms. This workshop will explore 'masking' with the ADHD population, its clinical presentation as well as impact on life scripts, development of impasses, transference material and other challenges. We will facilitate a discussion on de-pathologising ADHD and propose 'neurodiversity' as a therapeutic value. Some specific TA inspired therapeutic interventions will be suggested for addressing impasses and cathecting the Natural Child. The presenters are committed to cultivating a space that is neurodivergent affirming and that values diversity and inclusion.
