We will explore how mindfulness stimulates the integrating Adult ego state, fostering decentered awareness and resilience. This perspective empowers therapists to support clients to navigate difficulty and discomfort with awareness, while also placing intelligent demands on clients to promote growth - stretching their capacities just enough to encourage development and reducing the likelihood of activating defensive patterns.
