This very popular Diploma in Supervision course is now in its 17th year and for 2023 we will be offering an online course and a face to face course at our training rooms in Plumpton, East Sussex.

We have trained a wide range of therapists across a range of modalities to facilitate professionals in supervisory relationships. This Diploma in Supervision course is for those who want to enhance their practice by adding Supervision to their portfolio and supervising students and qualified professionals both from their own modality and across other modalities.

To qualify for study on the Diploma in Supervision course you will need to have significant experience working as a practitioner (minimum 3 years post qualification) within your field. There will be an opportunity to learn different theoretical ideas about supervision as well as to practice application with support and feedback from tutors and peers. We offer a supportive, stimulating learning environment with peers and tutors who have many years of expertise in working as supervisors and trainers.

The Link Centre Diploma in Supervision is aligned with the BACP Supervision Core Competencies. The course has a significant component of experiential learning – where students are encouraged to practice supervision skills, reflect on the skills, and bring their own experiences of both client work and supervision. Group discussions relating to these skills sessions offer rich opportunities for learning about individual needs, relational dynamics, challenges, and managing the supervision process.

Other core subjects are covered that are more specifically addressed in the course curriculum (such as the supervision models, ethics and professional practice, supervision relationship, beginnings and endings, developmental stages of supervision). In addition, we directly cover creative supervision, group supervision, and working in organisations.  Working online forms a significant part of the course.

Subjects such as working over the phone, children and young people, trauma, and working with interpreters will again frequently be explored in our discussions, especially where students are bringing specific requests around working in these areas and subject knowledge through the work they do as therapists.

For those that want to, this course will help to prepare you to apply for BACP accreditation as a supervisor.
